Emily Cross, B Phys, GCert Phys, M Phys, APAM, is an Advanced Practice Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Virtual Fracture Clinic Coordinator at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. With a career dedicated to orthopaedic care, Emily specializes in providing expert treatment for patients recovering from simple fractures and acute soft tissue injuries. At the forefront of her practice is a commitment to patient education and empowerment, believing that informed patients achieve the best rehabilitation outcomes. Emily strives to ensure each patient comprehends their diagnosis and treatment plan beyond mere medical terminology, fostering a proactive approach to their healthcare journey. Since joining Melbourne Health in 2013, Emily has played a pivotal role in enhancing orthopaedic care. She was instrumental in the Royal Melbourne Hospital's Virtual Fracture Clinic pilot project in 2017, contributing to patient care, orthopaedic clinical guideline development, and the creation of educational resources for patients. Emily holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University and graduated top of her class in her Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, also at La Trobe University.
